Skill Level: Intermediate
Finished Quilt Top: 56" x 70"
Alternating wedges cut from the background
and border fabrics make these sprightly blooms seem to float
over the surface of the quilt. In class, we will work on a variation
of the quilt using two alternating sets of identical print wedges
for each block. This reduces the yardages and makes the cutting
a bit easier.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
Main Fabric: This should be a medium-to-large scale print. Look
for a print with good light/dark contrast and a variety of motifs.
Measure the design repeat along one selvage, measuring from a
point on one motif to the same point on the next occurrence of
that motif.
Note: Batiks are not suitable for the main
print, since the repeats are inconsistent.
If the design repeat of the
Main Fabric is: |
6"
to 10" |
11"
to 14" |
15"
to 17" |
18"
to 26" |
Over 26" |
| You will need this many yards: |
3 1/8 |
2 1/4 |
2 5/8 |
4 |
5 repeats |
