Supplies:
Invisible nylon machine quilting thread or heavy black cotton thread for appliqué (such as Mettler 40/3 machine quilting cotton; Sulky also has a heavy cotton), sewing thread to match background fabric; 2 skeins of 6-strand embroidery floss for flower centers; rotary cutter and mat, rotary cutting ruler (6" x 24" or similar), 12 1/2" rotary cutting square (not needed if you cut background squares at home), one sheet heat resistant template plastic (such as Templar), 1/2 yd. plastic coated freezer paper.

To do the machine appliqué, you will need a zig-zag sewing machine (not a Featherweight.) Please bring the manual. Opt.: iron and bath towel to press on and Magic Sizing® or spray starch (ironing setups may be shared by 2-3 students).

Note: for conferences, check to see if sewing machines and/or irons are supplied before packing them.
